Buying a New Mobile Phone

I'm thinking of buying a new mobile phone and my choices are the htc sense, the iphone 4 or the samsung galaxy.

I'm considering a lot of factors in my decision, and not just the price. I want a phone that will be easy to carry around because I am very mobile and spend most of my days outside.

Also, I want a device that is easy to use for text messaging - an interface that fits my hand and dexterity. A gadget that has a clear audio for voice calls even if outside in a crowded street.

I want a phone that can surf the internet through WiFi, has downloadable apps and a good gaming device to "waste" time with while I'm traveling.

So now you see my dilemma and I think I have to spend some more time in deciding which one to get for myself.

Lady Gaga and Kanye West have been voted MTV News' Woman and Man Of The Year.

Gaga, 24, was chosen as MTV News' Woman Of The Year not only because of her massive chart success but also her work for social causes. This is the second year in a row Gaga has picked up the award.

MTV claim the pop star was given the award as no other artist has dominated the musical and pop-culture landscapes the way she has over the past 24 months.

Rapper Kanye West was voted MTV News' Man Of The Year and MTV claim there was no other choice for the award.

MTV picked West for the award as they say his comeback was a 'compelling story' and while coming into 2010 as a villain for his run-in with Taylor Swift he managed to leave it as a hero after the release of his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

The Story of Speed Safe Knives

Knifemaker, Ken Onion, began his quest to design the perfect knife as a Marine machinist. After years of R&D he has been able to create his signature speed safe knives.

And today, Ken Designs a custom selection of knives for Kershaw both with the patented Speed Safe torsion bar system for assisted opening and without. His personal involvement ensures each Onion meets his high standard for quality.

What is Speed Safe?

It is the patented, assisted opening system built into many of Kershaw's best selling Ken Onion knives. Speed Safe assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud or Index open system.

The Index Open uses a protruding portion of the blade's finger guard to give the uses an alternate to the thumb stud. The user manually pulls back on the protrusion with the index finger to open the blade.

The heart of the Speed Safe system is its torsion bar. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by gravity.

In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its half moon track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position.

Buying A Wedding Gift Today

December is wedding season in the country. While many think that it's June, because of the term "June bride" - a lot of people really marry during December because a lot of their relatives are available to attend the ceremony, you have a lot of money from your year-end bonuses and everything is cheap because of the bazaars.

Actually, this weekend, I'm off to attend the second wedding to which I was invited to and just a while ago, I bought two wedding gifts; one for this weekend and the other one, for the wedding of a friend next week.

Since the two friends come from different social circles of mine, I decided to buy the same wedding gifts for both of them. I bought tv stands for their new homes. I think it's really practical, useful and unique. If I get married, I wouldn't actually mind getting one as a gift.

First Two Girl Team Wins Amazing Race

Gal-pal doctors Nat and Kat have crossed the finish line to win "The Amazing Race."

They have also made history, becoming the first two-woman team to claim the million-dollar grand prize in the 17 seasons of the CBS reality series.

Nat Strand, from Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kat Chang, from Santa Monica, Calif., were first to reach the Los Angeles destination on Sunday's finale.

Finishing in second place were a rival female duo, Brook Roberts, of San Diego, Calif., and Claire Champlin, of Reno, Nev., who are best friends and hosts on a home shopping network.

Coming in third were dating couple Jill Haney and Thomas Wolfard, who live in Marina Del Rey, Calif.

During the hour, the three teams had to bungee jump off a giant crane at the Port of Long Beach, decorate a float for the Tournament of Roses parade, and play a trivia contest with veteran game-show host Bob Eubanks.

The race ended on a terrace of Beverly Hills' Greystone Mansion.

The finalists covered four continents, 30 cities and 32,000 miles, "Amazing Race" host Phil Keoghan told Strand and Chang as he declared them the winners.

Speaking by phone from New York after the broadcast, Strand said, for her, one of the worst moments of the entire journey had been dropping from that crane on Sunday's episode.

But speaking of the race overall, she added, "I had no idea how hard it was going to be."

Even though she'd seen all the previous seasons, watching the show on TV left her unprepared for how challenging it would be as a contestant. She cited "the extreme fatigue, how hungry you get — I was surprised by how physically demanding it was."

Meanwhile, a big surprise for Chang were "the bonds that we made, not only with each other but even with the other racers. We were so lucky that the others were fantastic, and we got along."

Celebrating their victory, which was sealed at Greystone Mansion some six months ago, Chang said, "It still feels unreal. Having to keep it a secret until just a half-hour ago made it difficult for it to feel real. I could only share stories with Nat. We'd say to each other, 'Do you believe what we did?!'"

End of the Year Concerns

It's nearing the end of the year again and one of the things I usually concern myself during this time is looking for affordable health insurance policies out there. While I've been with mine for two years already, I feel that there might be new ones that are better and cheaper.

Many of my friends say that I'm just wasting my money on my health insurance but I definitely think that it's one of the best things I buy every year. Because something as unpredictable as getting sick is something we should all be prepared for.

I remember in the middle of this year when I had terrible chest pains which didn't go away after a week, I had to go to the doctor to have it checked out. There were a series of tests which I know would have cost a lot, but because I had health insurance, I didn't pay for anything and more importantly, I didn't have reason to worry because I knew all possibilities were covered in the tests and all I had was just a strained rib cartilage brought about by lifting weights.
