Justin Bieber on Punk'd

Justin Bieber may have a new career on his hands: TV host. The pint-sized performer is rumored to be the next host of MTV’s "Punk’d", as several news sources reports.

The practical joke show, made famous by Twitter-fanatic Ashton Kutcher in his early Demi Moore days, caught celebs in "Candid Camera"-type situations such as the time Ashton made Beyonce Knowles believe she knocked over a 50-foot Christmas tree.

While Kutcher will remain as executive producer, he claims The Bieb’s deal is almost rock solid.

Going Gaga Over Lady Gaga

It's a few more weeks before Halloween and I already know what to wear - I'm going to be Lady Gaga. Hahaha!

But seriously, I've been trying to score some Lady Gaga concert tickets lately and hope to see her soon perform live. I've been such a fan of her for a couple of years now and I think the best thing I can do now is to attend one of her concerts.

And for Halloween, I'm working on wearing a Lady Gaga inspired costume just to show my friends how much I really dig her. Nothing shocking or anything, something subtle yet expressive would be great.

Kardashian Sisters Off To New York

First was L.A., then came Miami, and now, in another move to expand the vast Kardashian family empire, entertainment new sources have confirmed that sisters Kim and Kourtney will tackle the Big Apple next January in yet another series, Kourtney and Kim Take New York.

The 10-episode spin-off will follow the sisters' efforts to open another branch of their Dash boutique in New York, but clearly what any Kardashian fan is interested in is the battle royale.

I'm talking about Kourtney vs. Scott vs. Kardashian family, natch. This time around, Kim will play roommate with Kourtney and Scott, and the always-outspoken Khloe will pay a few visits—and, we hope, stir up some juicy family drama.

How do you guys feel about another spin-off?

Nostalgia

I did some brisk walking today and passed by a playground complete with slides and even a wood swing set. That immediately gave me a sense of nostalgia as I remember playing in those when I was a kid.

Nowadays, kids have electronic toys and video games to keep them entertained. Back then, it was the streets that served as our everyday playground.

So many things have changed and I wonder how different today's kids will be when they grow up. In a way, I'm glad that I was part of that era when playing tag and hide and seek all afternoon was the best part of my day as a kid.

Kanye's Power Verse

So Kanye West and SNL finally kissed and made up. On Saturday (October 2), Kanye West returned to the stage at New York’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza for an episode of "Saturday Night Live," touting a less offensive second verse.

The embattled rap star performed "Runaway," with recent G.O.O.D. Music addition Pusha T, and "Power," with a new second verse that did away with his dis ("F--- SNL and the whole cast/ tell them Yeezy said they can kiss my whole a--") of the storied NBC sketch comedy show.

The episode was hosted by "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston, and also featured Morgan Freeman and Ernest Borgnine in one sketch. However, much of the show appeared as filler for Kanye’s highly anticipated performance.

West last appeared on SNL in 2007, an episode hosted by another celebrity turned public enemy, Lebron James. Ye’s mood toward SNL soured when the show began taking shots at him following his Taylor Swift VMA rant in 2009. He aired his distaste for SNL by dissing it in "Power," but that didn’t stop cast members from enjoying the infectious tune.

West appeared roughly forty five minutes into last night’s episode, the performance set cloaked in white. Although unconfirmed, it’s been said that in the 35 years the show has been on television, the set has never been altered for an artist.

Dressed in red, draped in a handful of gaudy gold chains and donning a golden Roman wreath headband, he performed “Power.” He was flanked by ballet dancers clad in white leotards. In his newly constructed second verse, he offered a brief explanation of his anti-establishment actions, spitting, "Cause they trying to control every single decision/ you ain’t F’in the system then why the F is you living?"

At the end of his performance, he stood on a small staircase, with dancers to his sides atop pillars, and looked straight down at the ground. Victorious on the SNL stage, Kanye came, he saw, he conquered.

Kanye’s second performance found him toying with an Akai MPC drum machine, playfully tapping out the piano melody to “Runaway” on the device’s pads and dutifully adding the accompanying the song’s vocal samples. He wore the same outfit as he did for "Power."

Pusha T came on midway through the song for his verse, dressed in a white blazer, crisp jeans and pair of sunglasses. On the set’s white background, Kanye in red and Pusha in white, it appeared as if the pair were performing in heaven. Upon finishing the song, Kanye flashed a brief smile and bowed.

At the end of the episode, ‘Ye smile was replaced by something of a poker face—it appeared as if he might have been a bit peeved about something—but put up a reluctant peace sign with his fingers and turned to the SNL cast for requisite congratulatory hugs.

Treadmilling A Lot Lately

If you're looking for ways on how to lose weight fast, then I'd say that burning calories on the treadmill is an option.

But one should not just run and run on the treadmill because there is really a proper way to do it. I've found these out from a personal trainer.

First, do some stretching so you won't cramp and have better flexibility and balance while running.

Second, pace yourself. This means, do some brisk walking first and steadily increase your speed. As you feel that your heartbeats are going faster, then you should run faster too.

Third, do intervals. Run fast, then walk, then run again. Push hard with your speed, then give yourself a recovery period, then push your speed again.

Fourth, have water so you won't get dehydrated.

Last, do it for at least 30 minutes everyday. And complement it with a good balanced diet.

That's it.

What is Google TV?

Google TV, the latest service to offer Internet content on TV screens, holds the promise of making all the living room’s media as searchable as the Internet’s text, but that promise requires at least some cooperation from media companies. And many have been reluctant to help.

Their caution was underscored when Google announced on Monday that several television networks, Internet and media companies, including HBO, CNBC and Twitter, will be its partner in offering Web content and programming via televisions, to allow on-demand viewing and apps built for the big screen. But the major networks — ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC — were absent from Google’s content partnerships.

With Google TV, the company wants to be a leader in the burgeoning industry of Internet-connected television sets, which will be in 43 million United States homes by 2015, according to Forrester Research.

Google argues that the main reason that people are spending less time watching TV and more time on their cellphones and computers is because TVs lack the Web. By turning television screens into a Web portal, Google — along with a line of other companies like Apple, TiVo, Boxee and Roku — hopes to be a part of the five hours a day that the average American spends watching TV programming and ads.

Google’s technology, which was announced in May and will be available to consumers in the coming weeks in time for the holidays, will be built into new Sony high-definition televisions and Blu-ray players, and into a Logitech set-top box that viewers can use with TVs they already own. Google will make its software available to other television and set-top box manufacturers.

Google has been in talks with the major television networks and the major cable and satellite distributors about collecting TV schedules and programs for search purposes, but the company announced only a few concrete partnerships on Monday.

One is with Turner Broadcasting, which owns TBS, TNT, and other cable channels. It said it would optimize the Web sites of its channels for big-screen viewing. These Web sites are largely promotional, and indeed a number of networks said privately that they saw opportunities to promote their shows through Google TV.

HBO will offer HBO Go, which allows HBO subscribers to watch shows on-demand. Viewers will also be able to rent, purchase and stream shows and movies from Amazon.com, which start at 99 cents, and Netflix, which sells unlimited viewing subscriptions for $8.99 a month.

Google is also talking to media companies about creating apps for big screens. NBC Universal said it would deploy CNBC Real-Time, which allows for stock-tracking on the screen alongside the live broadcast of the CNBC business channel, and the N.B..A. built N.B.A. Game Time for following basketball news.

Several media and Internet companies have also built new versions of their Web sites for viewing on the big screen. These include Vevo, Pandora and Napster for listening to music through TVs; Blip.tv and YouTube Leanback for watching online videos; USA Today, The New York Times and Twitter.

Google is trying to make watching TV easier in a world in which people are used to watching what they want when they want it. Google has used its search expertise to create a search bar for Google TV. A search for "Mad Men," for instance, would show when it is playing on television as well as links to watch it online, view IMDB pages about the show or, next year, access related apps that software developers might build.

With Google TV, viewers can customize their home screen to show their favorite channels, Web sites and apps and use the Internet and watch TV at the same time, so they can watch "Mad Men," chat with their friends on Twitter about the episode and visit or share Web pages, all on the same screen. They can also visit a photo-sharing site like Picasa or Flickr and see their photographs on their televisions.

Logitech is building a remote control for searching the TV and the Web, and viewers can also use their Android phones or iPhones as a remote control and “fling” a video they are watching on their phones to the television.

Binocular Tips

A friend just recently bought some ncstar binoculars and asked for my help in getting tips on how to use them for people with eyeglasses

So I searched online and here's what I found out.

If you're wearing eyeglasses, then you should turn the eyecups DOWN. If you're not wearing eyeglasses (sometimes, he wears contact lenses), then you turn the eyecups to the UP position.

Many binoculars, have eyecups that can be adjusted in several positions. Only when you have the eyecups in the right position for you, will you clearly see the whole field of view.
