Chelsea Handler To Host 2010 VMAs

Yep, you heard it here: Chelsea, the star of the hit show "Chelsea Lately" and general purveyor of filthy jokes and brutal honesty, will be taking the stage on Sunday, September 12, at 9 p.m. ET to host this year's star-studded awards show.

She'll be only the second female host in the 25-year history of the VMAs, but don't expect a softer touch just 'cause she's a laaaaaady; Chelsea's already showed audiences that there's no topic she's afraid to tackle.

Chelsea is just the latest in a string of celebs to sign on for an appearance at the VMAs, including presenters Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Ashley Greene and Ne-Yo, and performers Florence and the Machine, B.o.B and Justin Bieber, and — of course — the notorious Kanye.

And of course, there's more to come. But while the full lineup of celeb attendees and winners of the ultra-coveted Moon Men has yet to be decided.

Home Security

I've been thinking about getting some wireless cctv cameras installed at home. It's for added security because I'm renting this house and I don't know how many previous renters still have the key to my door.

I asked my landlord if he changed the locks and he said it was up to me if I wanted to. So I did that but call me paranoid, I still want some added security system because quite recently, a burglar broke into a friend's house.

Of course, I still care about aesthetics that's why I'm getting the wireless type because I don't want cables going around the house.

Facebook Places Anyone?

Facebook has finally taken the plunge into location-sharing with its Places feature, so what do we think of it?

Well, users can now "report" a place page that they believe violates Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, but Facebook does not say how quickly place pages will be reviewed or what the criteria for removal might be.

In addition, official representatives of a business will be able to claim their place pages using the same verification system in place for fan pages.

We hope that Facebook has a plan and doesn't intend to do this kind of place maintenance by the seat of its pants. Otherwise, the Places feature could get messy in its first iteration – we're imagining check-ins from anywhere from the home of a teenager and her unsuspecting parents to 'the internets' and 'right here, right now.

Things To Do in Orlando

So okay, my father just bought some Orlando vacation packages and now he's asking me to research on the best things to do in Orlando, Florida.

I did a but of online search and here's some of the interesting things I found:

On top of the list is of course, Disneyland. That's probably the only thing you should not forget to do there.

Next is... you guessed it - Universal Studios. Lot's of great rides and places to eat there.

And lastly, we need to visit the waterparks there like the SeaWorld Orlando and its sister park, Discover Discovery Cove.

I guess those three places will keep us busy for the rest of our vacation there. It will be a lot of swimming, eating, riding and pure family fun. I can't wait to leave!

A Prenup For Hillary Duff

Before going off to marry hockey player Mike Comrie, Hilary Duff has signed a prenup. Yes, Comrie's dad is the founder of a Canadian appliance and furniture empire, worth an estimated $500 million.

"It was a totally amicable agreement," an insider says. "They love each other very much and knew this was just a technicality."

Duff, 22, and Comrie, 29, who met at an Idaho resort, have dated since 2007 (before he popped the question earlier this year).

While dating Duff, Comrie wasn't shy about dropping bucks.

Shortly after they began seeing each other in 2007, he surprised her with a Mercedes-Benz G-class SUV as an early 20th birthday gift.

Duff's engagement ring also is worth a reported $1 million.

Baby Strollers

My friend has finally a new floor model of the brand new Baby jogger city select which she has been telling everyone she will buy for the past weeks. She used it today during our weekly afternoon job and I can see why she bought it.

It's really a good toddler stroller that's lightweight and sturdy. It can push over 100 lbs of weight nicely, I think.

So whether you are headed to a theme park, visit to grandma’s, or just some summer fun but don’t want a spend a lot on a stroller for this purpose alone – you really won’t go wrong with the Baby Jogger City. Now I'm a believer to the brand.

Beware of the Facebook Dislike App

Malware has made it to Facebook once again, this time in the guise of a "dislike" button.

Promising to give users a chance to show their friends (and not-so-friends) how displeased they are with status update, links, and the like.

As appealing as this idea is to some (users have been clamoring for a dislike button for a while now) it appears to be too good to be true. Many news sources report that the dislike button is no good.

It masquerades as an application, but all it really does is douse your friends in a rising tide of spam messages. It also invites your friends to download the app, which helps to spread the damn thing far and wide. As always, if a new app sounds too good to be true-it probably is.

Check online first before downloading anything new. If the app is bad, odds are someone has complained about it already.

Buy.com Weekly Deals Came Just In Time

I've been doing a bit of redecorating in my room and was thinking of replacing my old television with an LCD TV. Good think that I went to buy.com and saw this Samsung P2570HD 25" LCD TV that they have on sale.

It's almost 50% off and there's also free shipping. If you ask me, that's definitely the best deal you can get for an LCD TV and right at the very convenience of online shopping.

Now it's time for me to think of the things I will do in my room. Perhaps getting a new air conditioner or a new mattress for my bed.

Michael Douglas Has Throat Cancer

Michael Douglas, best known for his role in the movie, Wall Street, has throat cancer and will undergo eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy.

The 65-year-old Oscar winner, who kicked his half-pack-a-day habit in 2006, is expected to make a full recovery, and appears to be very optimistic.

It was not clear yesterday how treatment for Douglas' tumor will effect the promotion of "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," the sequel to the 1987 blockbuster, which earned him an Oscar for Best actor.

In the new film, he reprises his role as greedy broker Gordon Gekko. It's set for release Sept. 24.
