Hoping for something swift and painless is one thing if you're the target of an assassination. It's a futile wish, though, when you're subjected to the death that is the Ashton Kutcher- Katherine Heigl vehicle "Killers."
Is it some monstrosity of awfulness, as its lack of advance screening suggested? No, that would imply at least a spark of some kind. This is just an empty summer hodgepodge of stale romantic comedy exchanges, witlessness and lackluster action.
It's a movie that starts in sun-kissed Nice, France, and segues to faceless American suburbs, to give you an idea of its metaphorical trajectory. Nice is where neurotic dumpee Jen (Heigl) is licking her wounds from a bad breakup, accompanied by her overprotective parents ( Tom Selleck, Catherine O'Hara). Spencer (Kutcher) is there to off someone for the CIA.
Spencer's mopey face tells us he doesn't really like killing. Jen, talking to her tightly packed-in breasts ("Stay put!"), tells us she's into Spencer. (Heigl's breasts — ogled, self-grabbed, discussed, pointed to — are practically a third character.) Jen and Spence marry, he gives up government work — his past still a secret to his bride — and three years later, they are the denizens of manicured-lawn, wacky co-workers and wackier neighbors, until one of their inner circle tries to kill Spencer. Then another. It seems there's a $20-million bounty on his head and, regrettably, where this movie's concerned, an endless bounty of tired who's-an-assassin-now sequences, none of them surprising, exciting or funny.
"Killers," whose screenplay is credited to Bob DeRosa and Ted Griffin, is the kind of high-concept mush that's an uphill climb for any director. But Robert Luketic is content to choose slick over funny at every turn, seemingly oblivious to the lack of chemistry between his leads. Kutcher's and Heigl's cutesy bickering has all the appeal of multimillionaire movie stars grousing over contract perks, and when Jen's possible pregnancy emerges, the lame jokes it inspires serves as a sad reminder of how promising Heigl's career seemed when she lighted up the screen as a mom-to-be in "Knocked Up."
Only Selleck turns his gruff papa into a source of wryness, earning a better laugh percentage than anyone else, even, surprisingly, O'Hara, who's saddled with a one-note alcoholic-mom role. As she pours drink after drink, laughing doesn't come to mind so much as envy.

An Advise To My Expecting Mother Friend
Today there are several options for prenatal vitamin supplements. Before taking prenatal vitamins it is important that pregnant women talk with their doctors.
There are always natural prenatal vitamins which you can take regularly in order for the baby to absorb the proper amount of essential nutrients. It is important that pregnant women learn about the types of prenatal vitamins that can be harmful to them.
Supplements that contain folic acid and iron are the most important for pregnant women. Always read the label carefully when considering your vitamin supplements since there are some that have vitamins and minerals which counteract the effects of the needed vitamins in the supplement. In order to ensure a healthy pregnancy and baby it is important for pregnant women to take prenatal vitamin supplements even if they think they are getting the needed amounts of vitamins and minerals in their food.
For pregnant women, the most toxic vitamin is synthetic Vitamin A. So the intake of synthetic Vitamin A should be carefully monitored for pregnant women. However, beta carotene is a good Vitamin A for pregnant women as it comes from food sources. This good form of beta carotene can be found in fruits and vegetables such as carrots and sweet potatoes. Although animal products that contain Vitamin A are not good for pregnant women since an overdose of these vitamins can lead to birth defects. So read the labels on prenatal vitamin supplements carefully and make sure the only form of Vitamin A is beta carotene.
Consulting your doctor is the best way to make sure your prenatal vitamin supplement is okay to use. Prenatal check ups are the best way to consult your doctor. Based on the needs of your baby the doctor will give you the proper dosage of the appropriate vitamins.
Folic acid vitamin supplements are usually recommended by doctors during the first trimester of pregnancy. The brain development of babies relies on folic acid. To prevent pregnant women from having anemia a doctor may also recommend iron supplements. Iron is also very important for the development of the babies.

Natural Acne Treatments
While searching online for the best acne treatments available in the market today, I encountered an article which enumerates some natural remedies for acne.
It is advisable to consult your physician or dermatologist before doing anything, but here are ten safe and effective home remedies for acne that can be used and some possible dosages - however, do not go crazy and use too much of these natural acne treatments.
Orange peels - strange, but true, aside from being a good source of vitamin C, an orange peel has become a popular home remedy for curing acne. After pounding the peel with water on a piece of stone, the patient can apply the mixture on to the areas affected by acne.
Lemons - don't laugh, this is probably one of the simplest remedies you can do at home to cure your acne. By extracting the lemon fruit juice and applying it regularly on the skin, you can terminate persistence pimples that may cause acne.
Garlic - Contrary to common conception, the use of garlic is indeed one of the most effective ways to treat facial blemishes. By rubbing raw garlic on the affected area several times a day, it acts like an acne cleanser and you can achieve clearer skin in a short period of time.
Coriander and mint juice - okay, we are not losing our minds here - some people have used this with success - another known effective home remedy for acne is the application of coriander juice, or mint and turmeric powder mixture on the face. Make sure that you cleanse your face thoroughly before applying it at night.
Cucumber - grated cucumber is considered as the best toner for the skin. By applying grated cucumber slices on the face, eyes, and neck for 15 to 20 minutes a day for a week or so, you can eliminate persistent blackhead and pimples.

Lady Gaga Is Positive for Lupus
From Kermit the Frog to police caution tape, Lady Gaga has taken fashion cues from an unlikely array of sources. But the most surprising of all: Larry King.
The singer tells Larry King that she tested "borderline positive" for Lupus.
The pop phenomenon threw her fans for yet another loop Tuesday when she appeared on "Larry King Live" in an outfit that could have been ripped from the veteran interviewer's closet, suspenders and all. Mimicking his signature hunched-over pose, Gaga looked like a vampy, drag incarnation of King, but it wasn't just her freakish look that got people talking.
Once again, the pint-sized pop culture phenom stirred the pot of truths and lies about who she really is.
Gaga revealed to King that she tested "borderline positive" for lupus , the connective-tissue disease. A few weeks ago, she had told the Times of London that despite occasional "heart palpitations and ... things," she was perfectly fine.
"Lupus is in my family and it is genetic," Gaga said. Her aunt died of lupus in 1976. "The truth is, I don't show any signs, any symptoms of lupus. But I have tested borderline positive for the disease. So, as of right now, I do not have it, but I have to take good care of myself."
But Gaga doesn't exactly abide by the dictionary definition of healthy living. She told the Times of London that she indulges in "a single cigarette -- with whiskey -- while I'm working, because it just frees my mind a little bit."

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Did you know that hair loss prevention is easy if caught early? Ongoing research indicates that there are steps to take for prevention when you first start noticing hair loss.
Sure, preventing hair loss is not as important as, say, preventing cancer, but if you can do something now to prevent yourself from losing hair down the road–Why wouldn’t you do it?
The statistics for hair loss in men are very foretelling of future prognosis for hair loss. Nearly 2 out of 3 men will experience hair loss at some point in their lives.
As scientists research the causes of hair loss they have discovered that many hair loss situations in men can be treated if the hair loss problem is caught early.
In an effort to educated the consumer about hair loss, the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (also known as ISHRS) will be showing up at college football stadiums across the country. They will have doctors onhand that can educate men about methods and treatments that can be done early on to offset further hair loss.
Many treatment options are available today to combat hair loss. Over the counter medication, called Rogaine, can be used for some forms of hair loss. Prescription medications such as Proscar or Propecia must be administered orally and with a doctor’s supervsion since it does have a few side effects.
Hair transplant surgery has also come a long way in the last 20 years. This surgery involves taking small pieces of hair from other areas of your head and transplanting the hair to the area where you are experiencing hair loss. The hair then starts growing normally, filling in your thinning or balding areas.
There are many possible causes for hair loss and before you begin treatment you must determine what exactly is causing your hair loss. There are different treatment options depending on the cause of hair loss.

Quaker Oats
While searching for a good cholesterol supplement online, a friend of mine told me that I should visit the Quaker Oats website.
Curious as to why, I learned that he wanted me to read an interesting question in their FAQ page. The question goes, "Do oats contain cholesterol?"
Do you know the answer? Here it is:
"No. Cholesterol is only found in foods sourced from mammals, birds or fish, and since oats are a grain product they do not contain cholesterol. An easy way to remember which foods contain cholesterol is to ask yourself whether the product came from something that used to walk, fly or swim. If so, it contains cholesterol."
Well, that's something I didn't know until now. :D

Goodbye Louise Bourgeois
French-born U.S. sculptor Louise Bourgeois, one of the world's most influential contemporary artists, died on Monday in Manhattan where she lived, the New York Times reported. She was 98.
The newspaper quoted Wendy Williams, managing director of the Louise Bourgeois Studio, as saying the artist died of a heart attack.
Bourgeois' works in a variety of media ranging from wood to steel to stone tended to center on the human form, although among her most instantly recognizable pieces were giant spider sculptures, some of which were three storeys high.
Tate Modern in London acquired one such work entitled "Maman," measuring more than nine meters tall and executed in 1999. A bronze version of Maman, which Bourgeois called "an ode to my mother," went on display outside the gallery in 2007.
The New York Times said her works "shared a set of repeated themes centered on the human body and its need for nurture and protection in a frightening world."
The artist said one of her main inspirations was her childhood in France, where she was close to her affectionate mother but was also unsettled by her father's marital infidelities including with her governess.
Her 1974 tableau "The Destruction of the Father" has been interpreted as an interpretation of a childhood fantasy in which a father figure is put on a table where it is dismembered and eaten by other members of the family.
Bourgeois moved to New York in 1938 after marrying a U.S. art historian, and her reputation gradually grew.
But it was not until the 1980s and 1990s, when she had a retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art and represented the United States at the Venice Biennale, that she began to be considered a major influence.

Want Cheaper Car Insurance?
Car insurance is one of the costs that you get if you're driving a car, and it's not something you can avoid because insurance is required by law. But that doesn't mean you just get whatever your insurer gives you, there are really several you can do to reduce your premiums cost.
1) Shop around and buy online: Figures show that many people simply renew their current policies without shopping around. The internet makes it easy to compare prices from different insurers, there are many car insurance reviews online so why not take advantage of this? Plus, you'll usually get a discount of 10% or more just for buying your policy online.
2) Policy type: do you really need a comprehensive policy with all the extras? Going for a third party fire & theft policy can reduce your premiums hugely, and is definitely worth considering if your car isn't an expensive model.
3) No claims discounts: Nearly all policies feature a discount that increases for every year you don't make a claim. The higher the discount available, the more you could save. Also look at insurers offering a 'no claims bonus for life' feature, where your current discount level can be fixed forever, even if you have to make a claim somewhere down the line.
4) Excess: The excess on a policy is the amount of a claim you have to pay before the insurer pays the rest. Choosing to have a higher than standard excess level will usually mean lower premiums.
5) Security: Fitting your vehicle with an alarm, immobiliser, or other security devices can lead to premium reductions. Parking you car off-road, for example on a driveway or in a garage, will also mean a cheaper policy.
6) Pay annually: Many insurers charge you interest for the privilege of paying in monthly installments. Pay annually if you can afford it to avoid this, or look for one of the companies who don't charge extra for monthly payment.
7) Mileage: The more mileage you run up every year, the more your insurance will cost. Even if you can't reduce your mileage, make sure you're not overestimating how much you actually do drive, and give your insurer an accurate figure.
8) Drivers: The more drivers you have on your policy, the more it will cost. Reduce the number of people insured to drive your car to the minimum possible, and try to get the policy in the name of a driver with the lowest risk profile. For example, if a car is driven by both a man and a woman, insuring it in the woman's name will often result in a cheaper quote.

Worst Memorial Weekend at the Movies in 15 Years
No SATC, women-rule-the-box-office effect this time around. This past weekend was the most sluggish Memorial Day at the movies since 1995—a bad omen for summer business, since the May holiday is typically one of the bigger release frames.
The Sex and the City sequel—ye of $153 million in 2008—wilted under the critics’ heat lamp. So did Disney’s Prince of Persia, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and his pectorals. What gives?
Good news first! If our luck holds, we may be spared Sex and the City 3 or Prince of Persia: Obligatory After-Colon Clause. SATC2’s blah outing—an estimated average of less than $15,000 per theater over four days—means this franchise is likely kaput.
The movie opened Thursday (Wednesday at midnight in some locations) to capture pre-holiday travelers, but the reviews were noxious, and their odoriferous stink traveled fast.
Meanwhile, Prince of Persia put its chips on a biceptual Boy Next Door, and action-star status is something that Gyllenhaal perhaps wasn’t ready for. With a production budget of $200 million and a $100 million marketing campaign, the movie’s estimated $37.8 million haul looks even more piddling.
The bad news? Like a spurned lover turning to ice cream, America drowned its sorrows in Shrek. Again. The movie opened two weeks ago to a mild reception, but picked up speed in its second week on buzz and best-of-the-worst status.
Does this mean we’ll get a fifth? DreamWorks said in 2009 that this installment would be the last of the series—it’s called Shrek Forever After, for finality’s sake. But you never know.
The cardinal rule of all-time Memorial Day smash hits—Mission: Impossible II, Star Wars III, Back to the Future III—says to never bet against a franchise with even a squeak of life left.

Things Which I've Been Reading Online
To while away my time, I've been reading some random news online and it's interesting to discover the many things I've learned and the trivial topics which I have discovered while aimlessly going from one website to another.
Some of the topics I've read is about Outer banks foreclosures and the experiments to test vaccines for cancer. Both of which I am not familiar with and I initially thought reading the news would bore me, but to my surprise, I found them quite interesting.
Meanwhile, some news items and blogs about tech wrote about the latest mobile phones and the upcoming Asus Tablet. I spent a good amount of time reading them while thinking if I should really save up for a new mobile phone or sell my iPod Touch for an iPad.
In the end, I think it was very therapeutic to read these random news. It takes away my mind off work while it fills me with current events and interesting bits of information which I could use in conversation.

That's Lame MIA
M.I.A. has been in the news an awful lot in the past week, but it's not because of her excellent new single "Born Free," the controversial video for said track or her hotly-anticipated album.
Rather, she has been on the lips of music fans and media followers alike, as her feud with writer Lynn Hirschberg has continued to escalate.
Following what she thought was an unfair profile in The New York Times, M.I.A. tweeted Hirschberg's personal phone number last week. And just to let everybody know that she means business, M.I.A. released the dis track "I'm a Singer" over the weekend.
Here's the thing: Not only is "I'm a Singer" a pretty weak track (both as a dis and as an M.I.A. song), but it's also totally unnecessary. Hirschberg has no real recourse (she has already called M.I.A.'s tweeting of her phone number "unprofessional" and "unethical"), and, ultimately, she's just a writer.

Guatemala Sinkhole
After seeing the photo of the giant sinkhole which has opened up in Guatemala City, I began to think of safety products which I can buy.
I'm sure you will think about this too if you can see the picture from the Guatemalan Government which is not going around the internet and newspapers.
It’s a terrifying scene especially after hearing that this giant sinkhole swallowed up an entire building and a house. Reports indicate that this giant sink hole is at least 200 feet deep.
This sinkhole came about after a week of heavy rains in Guatemala City. Tropical storm Agatha reportedly has taken over 130 lives. Authorities have yet to confirm if the giant sinkhole in Guatemala City added to the death toll although initial reports state that one security guard did die in the sink hole.
The giant sinkhole in Guatemala 2010 is said to be one of the biggest sinkholes in recent history.
