One of the things I love watching are foreign movies that gathered critical acclaim for their unique and interesting stories. One of them is The Pope's Toilet or originally titled, El Baño del Papa. I don't know if this will be shown locally that's why I'm hoping I could watch The Pope's Toilet online.
Anyway, this movie is set in 1988 in a small town called Melo, in Uruguay. Pope John Paul II is set to visit and some 50,000 are expected to come. While locals are all busy preparing to make money by selling food and drinks, one enterprising individual, Beto, decides that he will build a toilet for the people and the Pope.
He plans to charge fees for the use of his bathroom and expects that his ingenious and out of the box idea will make him rich. The Pope's Toilet / El Bano del Papa features Cesar Troncoso, Virginia Méndez and Mario Silva. It is directed by César Charlone and Enrique Fernández.
