Who is Arnel Pineda?
He is the current the lead singer of the American rock band Journey. He was born in Sampaloc, Manila, in the Philippines and began singing as early as the age of 5. His family was not well-off that's why he had to quit school and collect scrap metal, bottles and newspapers at the pier in Manila to earn money and help his poor family when he was still a kid.
He was interviewed on TV by Jessica Soho ("Kapuso Mo"). In the program, Pineda described waiting and watching while his relatives ate breakfast in the mornings, hoping some food would be left over for him to eat. Despite his sorry situation, he harbored no self-pity and always kept a positive outlook. He believed that things will get better.
And indeed, things got better for him. As he struggled and focused on his singing career, everything is now falling into the right places. Now a certified YouTube Pinoy celebrity, his next journey will be entertaining not only his countrymen but the whole world as well.
Good luck Arnel on your journey, the Philippines is proud of you.

My Personal Sanctuary
Whenever I get stressed about life, I would always retreat back to my room and reassess everything that's been happening lately. I would lie on my bed and look at the ceiling until I fall asleep.
I remember one of my friend telling me that I should invest in quality BEDROOM FURNITURE because in this modern world of ours, the bedroom becomes a personal sanctuary where we can simply be ourselves. A place where we can pamper ourselves and temporarily forget about our problems. I wholeheartedly agree to that!
I was browsing the website of SPACIFY and found a lot of very stylish BEDROOM FURNITURES that I think I would want to have in my room. I can really imagine myself sleeping in this bed below:
Graduation Day Ceremonies
I was driving around a few hours ago and I saw a lot of public schools holding their graduation ceremonies today. I can't help but go slow and look at the faces of the proud parents as they endure the long program. Moreover, I began to reminisce my past graduation days.
I remember all my graduation days in my life. There were five of them to be exact. I could still smell the sampaguita flower necklace that I wore on all of these occasions. Wearing those, along with the ribbon that says - "Graduate" has been a Pinoy tradition and I'm glad to see that up until now, it is still being followed.
I think I will take out my graduation photos later and reminisce more about my kindergarten, elementary, high school, college and university graduation. I wonder how my old classmates are nowadays. What have they been doing now and more importantly where are they now.
I have contacts to only a handful of them and most of them say that most of our old classmates have already migrated abroad. Meanwhile, those who have stayed here in the country are all stable and successful in their careers. I wonder when my next school reunion will be? I can't wait to receive an invitation.

Ecommerce Tips For A Friend
My friend in Australia emailed me recently that in her recent visit to the Philippines, she got to know a local supplier of very nice handicrafts. The entrepreneur in her suddenly thought of selling these products abroad. Short to say, she wanted to put up a business.
I immediately advised her that one of the easiest ways to sell products nowadays is to put up a website and sell them online. She liked the idea because not only will she have a store that's virtually open 24 hours a day, but she will also have a chance to sell to a global market. Her only concern was how she will manage her sales and orders.
I told her that all she needs to do is to set up a shopping cart in her website and she will be ready to earn. I warned her though that there are a lot of shopping cart softwares out there and she should choose the one that is easy to install and one that provides good customer service.
I recommended that she use Ashop Commerce shopping cart software because they are a professional ecommerce company which specializes in shopping cart software development. They can provide a total solution to online selling.
Their application design is completely customisable and the application is search engine optimised. So she can be assured that her website will appear in Google or Yahoo and other search engines. Additionally, they have free technical support services by e-mail, web chat and phone, which is really important for me before buying a product.
I wish her luck with her new business idea. Maybe someday, I can also start selling some products online.

Ramiele Malubay

American Idol Season 7 hopeful Ramiele Malubay got eliminated today. She has won the hearts of many Filipinos because of her Pinoy heritage. She is very talented which I think is proof our her Philippine ancestry - because after all, Pinoys are often said to love music and singing.
The good news is, I honestly think that this is not the end of Ramiele's singing career. I believe that she will follow the footsteps of fellow Fil-Am Jasmine Trias which had a good career run here in the Philippines. So I guess the next logical step for her dream is to see her native land.
When I first saw her audition, I could already tell that Ramiele will rise to be a star someday. Maybe not globally, but locally here in the Philippines where singers really have good chances of making it into the entertainment industry. At age 20, she has so much in store for her future.
Well done kababayan and hope to see your first studio album soon.

If I Had My Dream House
When I buy my dream house someday, I would design my interiors with MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY FURNITURE. I would put in designs inspired by Italy and other European countries. Our house now is quite simple and very traditional, which is okay, but in my home, I would be more adventurous and use MODERN FURNITURE like this one:
I really love this circular bed!
I got this picture from SPACIFY. I looked at their website and they have a beautiful line of modern contemporary furniture, European designer home office furnishings, Italian furniture, and retro designs. I could decorate my whole house because they have everything you'll need to experience modern living.
Barangay Cauringan

I found this picture in my friend's blog and I would like to share this to you, my readers. He was on his way to Baguio and they passed by this place along the way. The town was called Barangay Cauringan.
I know my Pinoy readers are now laughing because in Manila, Cauringan is a street slang for "love making". He took this picture and said that he might consider retiring in this town. Hahaha!
This is one proof that there also exists sub-cultural differences specially when it comes to local dialects. In Barangay Cauringan, people already speak a different language (Kapampangan, I think) while in Manila, the country's capital, we mainly speak Tagalog (or Filipino).
I wonder what Tagalog words are funny to other people in the provinces specially in the Visaya and Mindanao region. If we, the Tagalog speaking Pinoys find funny words in other dialects. I'm sure they also have their favorite funny words from our dialect.
If you know one, please comment below and share it to me. Thanks!
It' Summer
It's really summer here in the Philippines. My goodness, I've been taking a bath thrice a day for the past week just to keep myself fresh and feeling cool. It's a good thing that the airconditioning here at home is really in tip top shape.
The world celebrated Earth Hour just a few days ago and now I realize why they scheduled that event during this time of the year. The reason is because it's spring time and the world would tend to consume more electricity from airconditioning because of the heat.
As much as I want to conserve energy, I think my sanity is more important for now than saving the world's natural resources. It's pretty selfish but if you look at it, I'm not wasting electricity because I'm not using it excessively. Just enough to last through the worst times of the day. Come early afternoon when it's becoming cooler, I turn it off and enjoy a fresh cold drink out on our porch.
I guess the only place where I can tolerate this heat is if I'm sunbathing on the beach. My good news to myself, that will be coming soon as me and my friends are currently planning our annual summer outing. Yes!

Have It All Food Supplement Vitamins
I used to take Centrum but I want to try Have It All for a change. I'm not a big fan of Vitamin C because I want to be supplemented with all the vitamins and minerals that the body needs. At home, my parents are taking Fern-C and I think it's working for them. I haven't tried that yet though, maybe soon after I finish this pack of Have It All that I recently bought.
I like the packaging and the endorsers: Sharon Cuneta and Edu Manzano. Both represent successful celebrities which are very talented and have the potential to really do more with their lives.
Have It All Multivitamins is a food supplement that's jampacked with a lot of nutrients. It is manufactured by Vita-Tech International, Inc. and imported to the Philippines by Unilab.
I will give an honest review of this after a few days of taking it, so come back soon.
By the way, the official name of this multivitamin food supplement is not really Have It All but HAVit ALL (there is no letter E). I just added the letter E because at first I though it was Have (with the E) so I'm sticking to that so that people searching for information about Have It All (or HAVit All) can find this website.
Lastly, I would like to say that their logo is really nice! I love the colors.
JabbaWockeeZ, Kaba Modern and Pinoy Pride
JabbaWockeeZ is the latest reason why all Filipinos should celebrate. They are the grand prize winner of America's Best Dance Crew. They showed their dancing prowess in more than seven weeks of awesome pop-locks and cool breakdancing moves.
They garnered an record-breaking 38 million votes during the March 25 finale of the reality-based dance competition America's Best Dance Crew. The contest is hosted by MTV and is presented through American Idol judge Randy Jackson.
They took home the $100,000 cash pot and a contract for a tour where they can dish out more of their unique hip hop moves. They've already guested in several popular shows such as Regis and Kelly and can be seen in the latest hit movie, Step Up 2. They really have an enormous fan base in the United States and soon, here in the Philippines.
The members of JabbaWockeeZ are Jeff Nguyen, Ben Chung, Kevin Brewer, Phil Tayag, Chris Gatdula and Rynan Shawn Paguio. Looking at the names, you'll immediately guess who among them have the Filipino lineage. They actually have 11 members but America's Best Dance Crew required only six performers in a competing team.
The show also featured another group with a Fil-Am member, their name is Kaba Modern. They are an Orange County-based dance crew that was formed in 1992 by a group of kababayans at the University of California in Irvine during one of their Filipino cultural nights. Kaba Modern is known for their cutting-edge hip hop crew for their synchronicity and killer isolations.
During the semi-finals, Kaba Modern and JabbaWockeeZ faced each other. The latter won but despite this, Kaba Modern left a strong impression that will definitely lauch their future career.
I'm smelling a visit of the two dance crews, JabbaWockeeZ and Kaba Modern, to the Philippines soon. To give you a taste of what JabbaWockeeZ can do, here's a YouTube video made by a fan. Enjoy watching!

Investing in Ecommerce
Me and my friends were talking yesterday about the different businesses that we could put up if ever we won the lottery. Most were interested in putting up stores at the mall because of high traffic. I was surprised to know that I'm the only one who thought of making a website and sell online.
Ecommerce is now flourishing and I see a lot of personal websites now selling their products online. If my friends wanted a mall store because they would have a lot of customers, imagine just how many potential customers you would get if you had an online store - your market is the whole world!
My friends were excited about the idea but they asked how I would take care of my transactions. I said that the solution is simple, all I needed to do is get a dependable and user-friendly shopping cart software. After that, I could concentrate on developing quality products and watch my online business grow. I don't have to worry about my accounts because my ecommerce software will take care of my transactions.

Moreover, I discovered that there's a company named, Ashop Commerce which can provide exactly what I need to assist me in putting up a shopping cart system in my website. I'm not internet savvy and I don't know much about htmls but I've read through their customer testimonials and found out that they have very good customer assistance plus their ecommerce software is very easy to learn and manage. I think that this is the reason why they are the leading US provider of hosted shopping cart software.
In a few months time, maybe I could start selling my own merchandise here in my website. I can design t-shirts, mugs and notebooks. Or maybe, I could write about a book about my blog and sell it online. The possibilities are endless.

GMA Resigns!
The resignation of Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has recently been the source of April Fool's day jokes around the Pinoy Blogging Community.
Most of them are saying that the resignation was triggered by the the “Holy Communion” incident with Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz. Further stating that the President tendered her irrevocable resignation and as an act of contrition will be effective the 1st day of April.
Presidential Spokesperson Ignacio R. Bunye was not spared from the rumors and was quoted as saying, “I need some good long rest this time from politics, and the people likewise need and deserved the same rest." when he was asked for his reactions to the President GMA's resignation.
As of this writing, all blogs who joined in the rumor has clearly stated that this was just an April Fool's Day joke.

Where Would You Invest Your Lottery Winnings?
If you had won the lottery, where would you invest your winnings? Would you start a business or just put it in the bank and live from the savings interest? Personally, I would put it in An Invesment Company that you can Trust.
I visited the website of American River Capital INC and it's so easy to invest in the company. All you have to do is sign up and make your first deposit. After that, you can just sit back and relax and watch your money grow. Just remember that you must first have an e-gold account which you can open for free at www.e-gold.com.
After that, you can just let the company's team of investment experts to manage your fund. Their team of traders and software developers are well trained so that you won't need to spend time and money on complicated and confusing trading day courses and very expensive analysis softwares. They would do all the work for you!
Lastly, you don't have to worry about your account balance because you can access that information 24 hours, seven days a week over the Internet. So can watch how your money grows any time, any day.

Philippine SuperLotto Results for March 30
The Philippine SuperLotto 6/49 winning numbers for March 30, 2008 with a whopping jackpot of P249,005,120.40 are 1 - 15 - 29 - 32 - 46 - 47.
There is one lucky winner!
Who is the lucky winner of the Philippine SuperLotto 6/49? We'll probably know in a few days (or weeks) from newspapers and television programs; but if I were the lucky winner, I would not let myself be known by the press. I would hide like a pin in a haystack, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, let's analyze the winning numbers for the sake of discussion. First of all, if you followed my analytical prediction, you would have ended with two correct numbers. Again, my prediction for the Philippine SuperLotto 6/49 draw for March 30 was:
7 - 19 - 20 - 32 - 35 - 46
I'm sorry if you (we) didn't win. Lottery is a game of chance but I'm quite happy that I got two numbers correct because this means that there is a chance that mathematical calculations will someday give and correctly predict the winning lotto numbers. I only had time to analyze with the past 6 months of winning number results, I wonder if I did the whole year? I could have gotten at least three or four numbers correct. What do you think?
Again, the Philippine SuperLotto 6/49 winning numbers for March 30, it is:
1 - 15 - 29 - 32 - 46 - 47
Congratulations to the sole winner!
